No-one can deny that it can be difficult landing 20,000km from a sunny home in Melbourne to the dark and cold of London in the depths of winter. (We were training in the snow the other day!) Leaving mates, family, work and your flat at home, it’s essential that you can make some contacts in London to get life moving in the right direction again. Here is where the Hawks can help! There is no better way to make a few mates and potential contacts for work than by having a run and a beer with a bunch of guys and the guys at the social based Aussie Rules Footy club Wimbledon are certainly welcoming of new players coming along to training or a social function.
In addition, AFL London have set up great sponsorship deals with Fitness First whereby Wimbledon Hawks players (and other clubs) get around 12% off Membership at their many clubs around London. Also, Stoke Travel are sponsoring AFL London with some great deals on Europe trips to the snow, running of the bulls and other destinations.
So now is the time to join the Hawks, get fit and have fun.

The hawks had their first training run for 2010 season on Saturday 23rd. We had a good number (Aussies and Euros) turn up at Clapham Common to have a run around and thanks to Ace bringing the balls, we could actually have a kick too...
The puffing and panting from severe lack of fitness was replaced with beers and shouting at the Old Wimbledonians Rugby after training. Hopefully we can get even more numbers down next Saturday at Calpham Common (Nth. West cnr - 12.00) and at Colliers Wood on Wednesdays under lights at 6.45. See below for location and directions from Zeus.
MAP HERE
If your driving come from Clarendon rd to the carpark entrance.
If walking come up Cavendish rd to a walk way entrance. About a 3-5 min walk from Station.
