Mallorca - Magaluf
This year’s end of season trip took us to the sunny Spanish isle of Majorca. It’s going to be hard to fit 4 days of mayhem into one tiny report, but then again, we all know the rules, what goes on tour stays on tour. I’ll try and fill you in on what we can tell you…it was sunny, ummmmm…
25 Hawkers boarded the plane from Gatwick, all dressed in their PJs with granddad slippers and cuddly toy in tow. For many it was their first trip away with the club, I’m sure few had a clue what they were letting themselves in for. I’m pleased to say all abided by the “no normal clothes in your bag” rule which put us in a good position for all our fancy dress nights. We quickly got accustomed to our surroundings by spending the first day poolside, with the pool bar serving 1Euro pints we didn’t see any reason to move! First night – Rubix cube dress up. The idea of the night is to start off in one item of clothing of each colour of the Rubix Cube, and make sure you end up in just one colour. With a good day session under our belts we got in our fancy dress gear and hit the town, dinner went surprisingly well and soon we made sure Magaluf knew what we were all about. Plenty of cheap booze and clothes swapping later and you get 25 messy tourists. That’s about all I can remember. Here’s a photo, this is the last known sighting of Kevin……in an inflated state.

Day two and time for a bit of culture! We dragged our sorry arses out of bed and got ready to see a bit of the island. We boarded an old wooden train which took us up into the mountains and to the town of Soller. A “short” walk through the old streets took us to the beach where we did what we do best, ruin everyone else’s day. All this was in aid of a bit of R and R before the mayhem of body paint night! The night’s dress code was simple: footy shorts and Brown and Gold body paint! It’s safe to say we made a bit of a name for ourselves and covered as many people as possible in the stuff; suffice to say we painted the town Brown and Gold!

Day 3, all day Pirate fancy dress session. Pretty much explains itself. We got out of hand dressed as pirates. Went on a boat trip, jumped off the boat, got in trouble from el Capitan, jumped off the boat again, got in more trouble, strung up the skull and cross bones on the flag pole, they got bored of telling us off. That night we hit up the water party at BCM, the islands biggest club, still dressed as pirates of course, and continued to get out of hand until the early hours.

On the last day we had time to kill before our flight home so we hit the beach, played a bit of cricket, had a go on the paddle boats and soaked up what sun we could before heading back to reality and the week long hangover. Luckily we finished the trip with the same amount of men we started with, though it was close! It was definitely an end of season trip to remember.
